Lookin' to capitalize on it's surprising success of the square format with its GRDII and G100, ricoh announced a new "square" format camera today: the R8.

Setting the camera to [F1:1] Mode allows you to record your photos in square format common for medium format cameras. It delivers you a different perspective, and saves you the effort when posting images on your blog.
COmes out in mid march, 'round 400 bucks.

Square format, good low light capabilities and miniscule shutter lag – I'm all over it. Gotta sell some stuff on Etsy.
