Canning has a wonderful long tradition, we've mentioned the canned hamburger here a while back. Now, may we present: the CANNED WHOLE CHICKEN.

Ok, it's not really news - this stuff has been around since I was a kid. Never had it, though. However, over at ihatemymessageboard there is a whole walkthrough of opening, cooking/warming and eating the darn thing.

You can buy a case of 6 at Amazon for 50 clams. They are in 50oz cans and (according to Amazon) are "Great to have on-hand in your pantry for emergency dinners."
